Our Story
In 1927, William L. Johnston Sr. and his wife, Adeline, opened a little service station on the corner of State Road and Cedar Avenue in Croydon. After returning from WWII, their son Bill and his wife Florence took over the business. Bill enjoyed hunting so he incorporated a Sporting Goods inventory into the business. Larry, the second son of Bill and Florence, took over the business with his wife Kathy. Together they ran the business until Larry passed away in 2003. Over the next handful of years it was decided to withdraw from the Auto Parts industry and concentrate solely on the Sporting Goods industry. In 2012 Johnston’s Sporting Goods was born. Today Johnston’s is run by Larry and Kathy’s daughter, Patti along with her husband and four sons.

We sell NFA items such as silencers, SBR’s and SBS’s. We are partnered with Silencer Shop and have their kiosk in-house for customers to set up their accounts, complete electronic fingerprints, attach pictures and submit eForms. We can walk customers through the entire process and answer any questions they ay have regarding the NFA process.
